Ferry port in Naples is really big, but it is very easy to locate the departure place in Naples where the fast ferries (so calledhydrofoils or aliscafi in Italian), depart to Capri. Their departure pier is called Molo Beverello and it’s located just across Castello Nuovo (huge castle in the port of Naples). If you have some free time I think you should definitely visit and explore history of this beautiful Angevin castle.
Let’s go back to ferries – hydrofoils (high speed ferries) of two ferry companies leave from Molo Beverello pier: SNAV and NLG and they both take passengers to Capri island. It takes them approximately 50 minutes to reach Marina Grande which is the only port on Capri island. These catamaran ferries take only passengers and no cars to Capri island.
There is also a pier called Calata Porta di Massa which is within the walking distance from Molo Beverello. That’s a place where ferries and hydrofoils of CAREMAR company depart to Capri. CAREMAR services inlude catamarans and car ferries likewise.

Marina Grande is the only port on Capri. Ferries and catamarans from Naples and Sorrento dock right there. You just need to walk to the end of the pier to reach the center of Capri town. Therefore you will not be far away from Augustus Gardens and Piazzeta in Capri which are one of the main highlights of that island.

That it would be a good idea. I have been working for years on the cruise ships and the only place where I felt motion sickness was on the hydrofoil from Naples to Capri. The sea wasn’t really rough but the swell must’ve hit some sort of my motion sickness trigger.

With CAREMAR company, it is allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage weighing up to 10 kg and with a maximum size of 50x40x20cm. With NLG company, allowance is 1 piece of hand luggage weighing up to 5 kg and with a maximum size of 50x30x15cm. Big suitcases are subject to a charge with all companies.
